Kobie Du Plessis

Kobie Du Plessis is a renowned Concert and Classical Harpist.  Born in South Africa, she has studied travelled and played across her home country as well as Europe, most notably in Holland and Spain. She has performed as Solo harpist for the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra and the Stellenbosch String Orchestra, and venues ranging from the Liceu Opera Theatre in Barcelona to the famous Grachten festival in Amsterdam. Kobie has also broadcasted solo, duo and trio concerts on South African radio and in 2005 held an international masterclass with the famous harpist Edward Witsenburg

Recently Kobie developed an interest in traditional Spanish and Catalan harp music. Her latest interest is in Irish Celtic music. She has three harps, a Celtic, Austrian Folk and a Concert Harp. She likes to perform using one or a combination of her harps, which in combination with her diverse collection of music demonstrates all the different colours of sounds of the harps.
