The XX RioHarp Festival 2025 recently graced Rio de Janeiro, bringing a month-long celebration of harp music to audiences. Among the many talented musicians featured, South Africa was proudly represented by the accomplished harpist, Kobie du Plessis.

- July 2nd (Wednesday): 12:30 PM at the CCBB Rio (Rua Primeiro de Março 66, 2º andar – Teatro II- Centro).
- July 3rd (Thursday):
- 3:00 PM at the CCBB Rio (Rua Primeiro de Março 66, 2º andar-Teatro II-Centro).
- 6:00 PM at the Academia Brasileira de Letras (ABL) (Av. Pres. Wilson, 203-Centro).
- July 4th (Friday): 3:00 PM at the CCBB Rio (Rua Primeiro de Março 66, 2º andar – Teatro II-Centro).
All concerts at the RioHarp Festival were free to the public. The CCBB Rio’s Teatro II has a capacity of 153 seats , while the Academia Brasileira de Letras can accommodate 200 people. Tickets for the CCBB Rio shows were distributed one hour before each concert at the physical box office , and for other venues like the ABL, they were distributed 30 minutes prior.
The XX RioHarp Festival, now in its twentieth edition, presented an impressive 84 uninterrupted concerts throughout July. The festival is deeply embedded in the “Música no Museu” project, which has been organizing free concerts in Brazil and abroad for 28 years. This year’s event also paid a special tribute to Grupo Globo, commemorating their 100 years of support for the festival. The festival showcased a diverse range of approximately 150 musicians and vocal groups from various continents, performing with a wide array of harps and sounds, spanning from baroque to contemporary music.
